Gap Year Soccer helps players find a gap year soccer programme in Spain, Germany, Portugal, England or the USA. The service is powered by SRUSA (Sports Recruiting USA). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it and what we do with it.
Who we are
The data controller is SRUSA (Sports Recruiting USA), operating Gap Year Soccer. [Confirm SRUSA legal entity name, registered address and country] You can contact us at gapyear@srusasoccer.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the application form:
- Player name, email address and WhatsApp number
- Country you live in and the year you finish school or college
- Playing position, current club or team and the college level you are aiming for
- Destination interest and a link to highlights (optional)
- Parent or guardian name (optional) and any message you write
We do not ask for payment details, passport numbers or medical information through this site. Please do not include them in the message box.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry by email or WhatsApp
- To assess your application and recommend academies that fit your level and goals
- To pass your details to partner academies and, where relevant, college coaches, so they can assess you (see below)
- To keep records of our conversations and to improve the service
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your request to take steps towards a placement (contract) and on our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. Where we contact you for marketing, we will ask for your consent.
Who we share it with
- SRUSA. Your application is handled by the SRUSA team.
- Partner academies. We share relevant details with the academies in the country you are interested in so they can assess your application. They may be located outside your country.
- Service providers. Our website is hosted by [Confirm hosting provider, e.g. Cloudflare Pages]. Applications you send through the form are stored in our own secure admin system, which runs on Cloudflare (database and hosting), and may be emailed to our team. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit.
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Because we work with academies in Europe and players around the world, your information may be transferred to countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards. [Confirm transfer safeguards with legal advice]
Players under 18
Players under 18 should apply with a parent or guardian, who should read this policy. If you are a parent or guardian and want information about your child deleted, contact us at gapyear@srusasoccer.com.
How long we keep it
We keep application information for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any placement, and for a reasonable period afterwards. [Confirm retention period, e.g. 24 months after last contact] You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently set advertising cookies. [Confirm whether any analytics or tracking will be added] If we add analytics or similar tools, we will update this page and ask for consent where required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the UK, the EU or California) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email gapyear@srusasoccer.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of sending data over the internet is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
