Terms

Draft for review. Items in [red brackets] need to be confirmed by SRUSA, and this page should be checked by a lawyer before the site goes live.
These terms apply when you use the Gap Year Soccer website and enquire about our services. Gap Year Soccer is powered by SRUSA (Sports Recruiting USA). By using this site or sending an application you agree to them.
What we do
We help players find and apply to gap year soccer programmes run by partner academies in Spain, Germany, Portugal, England and the USA, and we support players who are aiming at college soccer in the USA. Sending an application gives you a free evaluation. It does not create a placement, and it does not commit you or us to anything.
No guarantees
We give honest advice and we do not promise results. We cannot guarantee a place at any academy, a scholarship, a college offer, a professional contract or any level of playing time. Outcomes depend on the player, the coaches and decisions made by third parties.
Partner academies
Programmes are delivered by independent partner academies, not by Gap Year Soccer. If you join a programme you will also need to agree to that academy's own terms, rules and policies. Details such as dates, accommodation, training and fixtures are set by the academy and may change.
Fees and payment
Costs depend on the academy, the length of stay and what is included. We will give you a full breakdown before you commit. [Confirm deposit, payment schedule and refund / cancellation terms]
Your responsibilities
- Give accurate and complete information in your application
- Players under 18 must apply with a parent or guardian, who must give any required consent
- You are responsible for your own passport, visa or travel authorisation, insurance and travel arrangements. We will guide you on what you need, but we are not an immigration adviser. [Confirm visa guidance wording with SRUSA]
- Follow the rules of the academy and the laws of the country you are in
Eligibility and NCAA rules
College eligibility rules, including those of the NCAA, NAIA and other bodies, can change and can affect players who play in Europe. It is your responsibility to check your own eligibility. [Confirm any eligibility statement with SRUSA]

You may not copy or reuse it without permission. We try to keep information accurate, but it may be out of date, so please confirm details with us before you rely on them.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that arise from things outside our reasonable control, including the actions of partner academies, travel disruption, injury during training or matches, or changes to visa or eligibility rules. [Have a lawyer confirm the limitation of liability wording]
Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our privacy policy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. These terms are governed by the laws of [Confirm governing law and jurisdiction].
